DescriptionBookmark from St James Church, Ngatimoti, Nelson Province, New Zealand.Item readsSide B:
Saint James Church was built in 1884 as the local Anglican Church. It has been the spiritual centre for many generations of church goers but recent times have seen a decline in church attendance.
1998 saw a revival of local awareness in the church in a spiritual sense and also in a physical sense 0 as part of the local history, the beauty of the building and its setting, the architecture and construction. To preserve and maintain the Church and grounds, interested people have formed 'The Friends of St. James".
St James is under the control of The Nelson Anglican Diocese but is operated on an interdenominational basis with monthly services.
This building has a Category II New Zeland Historic Places Trust rating.
St Johns is not just a place.
It is a Beacon of Hope of Us.
