DescriptionExterior of St John's Cathedral in Napier, prior to the 1931 earthquake.

Officially, the church is called Waiapu Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist.

After the 1931 earthquake in Napier, the church was rebuilt, with the construction being completed in 1965. It was consecrated in 1967.

The new church is built in the Art Deco style.
