Datec 1860DescriptionAn early photograph. Enlarging the church by lengthening the nave to the west was begun in 1859 but had to be postponed on account of the Taranaki War, until 1862. The west end was boarded up and loop-holed for musketry. Grass has taken root on the unfinished west wall.
